All-Natural Beauty: Skin Care Part II

All-Natural Beauty_Skin Care Part IIWelcome back my beautiful pageant ladies! This is part two of our introduction to all-natural, organic skin care. Thus, here are three more top organic skincare brands loved and revered for their list of healthy, wholesome organic ingredients and other green beauty benefits (e.g., no animal testing!). So dig in and enjoy! :)

Neal Yard Remedies

This brand has not quite hit the U.S. mainstream yet (at least that I am aware of), but it is a U.K. organic favorite. Their top sellers are their Wild Rose Beauty Balm and their Frankincense Hydrating Cream (which is apparently worth fighting over according to the women at Marie Claire U.K.). NYR stands by 100% organic ingredients and providing as quality a product as possible. Their website is great at breaking down what they have in their products and why they do what they do. Another great brand for high quality organic products!

Juice Beauty

This brand originated in California, and has become increasingly popular over the last few years. I even sampled their face moisturizer via Birchbox and loved it! Another great bonus aside from organic ingredients is that their products are clinically validated. That means that their products are proven to work–such as in reducing fine lines and alleviating acne. If these are things you suffer from definitely check out Juice Beauty and their lines, which cater to different skin care needs!

Another German organic skincare brand, Weleda is similar to Dr. Hauschka in that all their ingredients are grown in biodynamic gardens. Weleda’s most popular product is their skin food, which is a great moisturizer for the body and hands! Weleda is a popular organic skincare brand because of their fair trade values, organic ingredients, and products that get the job done!

I hope this overview of some top organic brands helped give you guys some options to explore and try! Feel free to purchase sample kits or travel sizes as testers from their websites, or hit up your local Whole Foods to purchase them as well!

Also, don’t forget to CLICK the brand names, they lead to where you can buy the products!

All-Natural Beauty: Body Lotion

All-Natural Beauty_ Body LotionI love body lotion. It keeps skin soft and supple, while making sure you smell wonderful! Lotion is important for skin because good lotion will not only hydrate, but also help heal and protect skin. Furthermore, because the lotion’s ingredients will be absorbed into your skin, you want to make sure that you’re not piling on the chemicals. This is why I prefer to buy organic body lotion when possible.

Every pageant girl wants beautiful, soft skin. So why not make sure you can keep it glowing by using safe, organic products? Below are a few of my favorite (or highly rated) organic body lotions as well as a recipe or two if you’re the D.I.Y. type. Enjoy!

Organic Body Lotion Products:

1.    100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream (Coconut)

I received a sample of this in my Birch Box and absolutely loved it. It had a nice creamy formula, and was very hydrating. The biggest problem I usually have with body lotions are that they are too thin and do not hydrate enough. However, this product was perfectly thick and hydrating. I had a sample of the coconut one, and personally loved it. However, some people are not huge coconut fans. Luckily, they also have green apple, vanilla bean, and pink grapefruit to choose from!

2.    Bliss Body Butter (Lemon & Sage)

My mom received a set of bliss body butters for Christmas, and I quickly set out trying each and every one. The consistency is between thin and creamy, but still hydrating making it nice for the summer. These body butters are paraben free and contain Vitamin A and E, both of which are good for the skin. Furthermore, the body butters come in an array of lovely scents. I liked the lemon and sage because it smelled fresh and energizing due to the citrus.

3.    Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion (Unscented)

My parents use this body lotion, and naturally I was curious and helped myself to some. This lotion doesn’t smell like anything special, and because of this you can easily layer your perfume on top without any scent conflict. Furthermore, this stuff is gloriously thick, and thus super hydrating! It is paraben free and hypoallergenic, so it is great for those with sensitive skin.

4.    Nourish Organic Body Lotion (Almond Vanilla)

I received a sample of this product and was impressed by its all-organic list of ingredients! It has a pleasant smell and a very lightweight formula. This would be perfect for summer. Especially, for those living in more humid environments because the lotion is less thick than those mentioned above (but is also less hydrating). However, it is chalk full of good-for-you ingredients such as aloe vera, argan oil, and vitamin E making for beautiful, soft pageant-ready skin.

All-Natural Beauty: Face Masks

ID-100214253-stockimagesHello my pageant starlets! We all know how important smooth, flawless skin is for your pageant (and for your health!). We scrounge around the drugstore hoping this or that product will work, and end up spending lots of money for beautiful skin. However, the skin we dream of is right around the corner (or in this case in your kitchen cabinet). So open up your pantries and pay not a cent more! Here are a few of my favorite D.I.Y. face masks by BubzBeauty for the all-natural beauty in us all.

1.     DIY Mask for Clear & Smooth Skin

Doesn’t her skin just glow in this video? I also love how easy and quick all the steps are! This mask is a definite must as it not only exfoliates, but also helps you achieve a brighter, clearer complexion. To add more credibility to her claims for the benefits of almonds and honey check out the links below. :)

2.     Tea Bag Face Scrub

I fell in love with this beauty D.I.Y. for a number of reasons. First, green tea is just great to drink anyway, as it helps detoxify and provides your body with antioxidants. Thus, why not treat your face as well as your body? Instead of spending money on expensive exfoliators just use your green tea bags to achieve a beautiful, clear complexion! 3.     Chocolate DIY Beauty Mask

When I stumbled upon this beauty mask video I could not believe my eyes or ears: a face mask made of what? Chocolate! The simple fact that a D.I.Y. beauty mask that involves chocolate exists made me unbelievably happy. It sounds crazy, but looks like it works because her face appears so clear and bright after she uses it! Why not indulge in chocolate the right way? :) Curious about the uses and benefits of yogurt and cacao (i.e., chocolate)? Check out the links below!

Now that you have a new knowledge of all-natural face masks, make a spa day of it! Get your girlfriends together or spend some quality alone time and treat yourself to a day of self-pampering. Either way, you are bound to enjoy these amazing masks. Your skin will thank you, and you will positively glow at your pageant. Who knows? You could end up sharing your skin wisdom with the judges! :)

P.S. Do you have a D.I.Y. face mask that you love to make? Let us know, maybe we’ll feature it in the future! :)
